A note on recent inaccuracies caused my Emis PCS Miquest issue:
NOTE: This issue is now resolved.
A recently-introduced problem was discovered with Emis PCS Miquest which affects the accuracy of results of QMS Contract Focus reports.
The issue affects the accuracy of any queries that look for date-related entries (such as a test result recorded within x days of a diagnosis). It appears that this issue affects queries run between February and March 30th 2009
The issue will affect all MIQUEST queries, including Contract Focus results (but not Practice Focus), and will lead to inaccurate results for the following QOF indicators:
Asthma 8
Atrial Fibrillation 4
Cancer 3
CHD 2
COPD 12
Dementia 2
Depression 2
Heart Failure 2
Mental Health 7
Stroke 12
DES Alcohol screening (inaccuracies in details of follow-up)
Smoking Cessation (inaccuracies in details of follow-up)
The issue was reported to Emis, and we are informed that a fix is available (and installed on Enterprise systems) from 30th March.
Queries run after this date should produce accurate results again, and Emis recommend that any practices that continue to see problems should contact them to verify that the patch has been correctly applied.
