Company Profile

QMS has been based in central Bournemouth on the beautiful South Coast since its inception in 2004. Since launching the business we’ve grown steadily and now employ around 15 staff. We create, develop, support and maintain our software products and services which are aimed at streamlining and analysing GP clinical systems and practice management throughout the UK.

Our team of staff includes expertise in clinical general practice and public health, practice management and GP clinical systems in addition to software development expertise.

Areas of Work

Contract and Performance Monitoring Service

We simplify and automate the time consuming and complex process of collecting contract management and performance monitoring data from General Practices. Software installed in GP surgeries collects high quality management information to effectively manage service delivery.

In many cases, this includes audits based on locally-specified requirements.

QMS Quality Baseline Assessment

We use our standard tools, coupled with expertise in primary healthcare to compare and benchmark practices across the CCG, reduce variations in quality, maximise practice income and increase CCG commissioning resources.

Health Check Focus

Health Check Focus provides an end-to-end system to manage and delivery the national program of 5-yearly health checks to 40-74 year olds. The system includes:

  • Call and recall management
  • Comprehensive reporting
  • Health check delivery and recording

This is a web-based system which can be configured to suit practice/Local Authority requirements.

Practice Focus

Our GP-based data analysis tool – QMS Practice Focus – supports many of our other services and provides CCGs, Local Authorities and GP groups with a tool to streamline data collection.

Our expertise in this area is frequently commissioned to provide bespoke audit definitions to satisfy local needs.

QMS also offer consultancy services to practices and CCGs supported by QMS Practice Focus.

Company History

The Health Informatics market is undergoing profound changes as the NHS attempts to modernise to meet the needs for digital healthcare in the modern NHS.  Small companies such as QMS are providing crucial steps towards a more integrated system supporting health professionals in many areas of the NHS.


Strong central government support, and a pent up demand for improvement is leading to exciting opportunities for small companies such as ours.  From our initial tools provided directly to GPs we have evolved to deliver a variety of other products in the primary healthcare sector.  These include Clinical Data Audit and Data Collection to support service management and also direct delivery of population screening programmes using web-delivered tools.  Evolving our products has led to consistent growth.


As a Microsoft Certified Partner, maintaining a Statement of Compliance with NHS Information Governance Standards (IGSoC), we believe that high quality information and data security is essential to patients, front line clinicians and managers in the NHS.  We strive to work to the highest professional standards and continuously to improve our products and services.
