QMS recognises the difficulties
practices and PCTs face in
developing against the wide range of national and local quality
targets, and in
providing data to demonstrate achievement against these targets. To
assist
practices and PCTs striving to meet their responsibilities, QMS have
produced a
range of consultancy and training services.
Consultancy
We have a team of consultants who can
provide on-site support for practice development, for example,
supporting practices to:
- Improve data quality, disease registers and
prevalence accuracy.
- Meet requirements for DES 09/10 (alcohol screening,
osteoporosis, ethnicity and language recording, learning disabilities).
- Meet LES requirements.
- Improve processes in Long Term Conditions Management
(including recall and review, use of action plans, exception coding).
- Meet the IM&T DES.
- Deliver the Vascular Health Checks programme.
Our software, Practice Focus, provides a comprehensive quality
improvement tool to enable audit and performance monitoring against a
wide range of quality indicators, including:
- Chronic disease management targets (including QOF).
- Child immunisation targets (DES and HPA).
- Flu and pneumococcal (including pandemic flu and
uploads to HPA).
- Enhanced services (DES, bespoke LES audits, and local
QOF arrangements).
- Referrals.
- Health Checks Programme.
We can create bespoke packages and work with individual and groups of
practices to review their baseline performance and make recommendations
for quality improvements.
Training
In addition to on site consultancy QMS
can offer group
training, with a focus on quality improvement, data quality and more
effective
use of IM&T. Many of our
seminars/presentations
are ideal for protected learning time sessions, both at individual
practice and
PCT arranged groups.
Template
/ guideline development
To support consistent data entry, QMS
can offer template building services, for individual practices, or
across the whole PCT. We also produce comprehensive guidelines for
practice use, for example, guidelines to support development of 'CVD at
risk' registers, direct and local enhanced services guidance, Read code
aide memoirs, exception reporting guidance and many more.
