Clinical System Compatibility

Currently compatible with all systems that meet RFA 99 accreditation criteria, using 5 byte Read Codes or CTV3 codes. All statistical data from participating practices can be aggregated at the PCT to provide a comprehensive database. QMS Software is currently running alongside the following clinical systems:

  • EMIS LV
  • EMIS PCS (Lan and Enterprise)
  • iSoft Synergy and Premiere
  • INPS Vision (Lan and Enterprise)

Minimum Hardware requirements

Supported Operating Systems:

  • Server 2003 SP2
  • Server 2008
  • Windows 7
  • Vista
  • XP SP2 or SP3

Processor Speed:

  • Minimum of 2GHz
  • Multi-core processor is recommended

Memory:

  • Minimum of 2Gb of RAM

Disk Space:

  • Minimum of 10GB of free hard disk space

Screen Resolution:

  • Minimum of 1024x768 and 16 bit colour

Internet Connection:

  • Must be able to connect to outside networks (including firewall configuration to allow data transfer to the PCT/GP/GP Consortia, where appropriate) to check for updates and send exportable data
  • Web browser to allow access to online documentation

Other software dependencies:

  • Excel 2003 or later, with up to date service packs
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or above

Location of installation:

  • If it is possible to install Practice Focus on a machine that is not used on a daily basis, like a server, this is preferred. Alternatively, Practice Focus can be installed on any practice machine meeting the other listed requirements. 

User Rights:

  • To be able to add/remove users from having access to Practice Focus and its report, a user must have administrative privileges to add users to a Windows Local User Group.  This same permission must also be available to allow users to install updates
