Through on-site visits, we analyse practice data using Practice Focus, and review practice systems and processes, to produce a report and recommendations.

We put particular emphasis on the importance of data quality, highlighting areas where the practice prevalence is below expected, and identifying patients who should be coded onto disease registers. This work can lead to significant improvements in prevalence and benefits to practice income.

Much of the variation in quality between practices is due to variation in systems, rather than variation in clinicians, and we emphasise the importance of a systematic approach to quality improvement. Working smarter not harder is the key to success.
