  Benchmark all practices across CCG

QMS Quality Baseline Assessment provides the CCG with comparative performance data from all practices:

  • Baseline data from all practices aggregated into single CCG report
  • Simple scorecard format, bespoke to local requirements
  • Comparative performance data
  • Identify priorities for improvement

  Aggregated comparative report

At the end of the Quality Baseline Assessment, the CCG receives an aggregated report of data from all practices, allowing the CCG to:

  • Analyse age-sex standardised prevalence rates
  • Compare actual prevalence against expected prevalence
  • Identify data quality issues
  • Review performance by practice on key quality indicators:
  • o QOF,
    o DES, LES,
o Childhood immunisations and screening programmes
    o Bespoke local KPIs
  • Identify opportunities to improve patient care and maximise practice incomes

  Increase CCG resources

Future NHS funding allocations are likely to be made to Clinical Commissioning Groups on the basis of the age and recorded morbidity in the local population. QMS can support CCGs to ensure that prevalence figures reflect the true burden of disease locally.

  • Accurate prevalence rates are vital to ensure local health needs are resourced appropriately
  • QMS Quality Baseline Assessment verifies accuracy of prevalence data, and identifies patients missing from registers
  • Ensure CCG is funded appropriately for all patients with disease
  • Increase potential Resource Allocations to CCG

  Return on Investment

In addition to clear benefits for patients, QMS is confident that the costs of the baseline assessment are small in comparison to financial returns:

  • QMS review generally identifies income gain of £1 per patient in each practice
  • £6000 of annual recurring income identified for an average sized practice or £300,000 for an average sized CCG
  • Future NHS funding based on morbidity, QMS services can help ensure appropriate Resource Allocations to CCG
